# Why are Paid Proxies Better?

Free proxies are accessible to anyone, resulting in their usage by thousands of bots daily. This high traffic makes free proxies slower than paid ones or not work at all. Additionally, free proxies are more likely to be rate-limited or banned from Roblox, as many are already used by Roblox botters.

# Why Can't Anyone Use Paid Proxies?

Paid proxies require authentication, ensuring that only those who have purchased the proxies can use them. There are two main methods of authentication:

# IP Authentication

Used by Proxyscrape, Webshare, and Fineproxy, IP authentication works by providing your IP to the proxy website. This allows any proxy requests sent from your IP to be accepted by their proxy servers, making the proxies exclusive to you.

# Username & Password Authentication

Webshare uses this method. It involves providing a username and password that should be included with your proxy file. For example: user:[email protected]:80. Currently, Versatile only supports this user:pass IP format.
