# Considerations

When purchasing proxies consider the following:

• Proxy Amount: We recommend acquiring at least 500 proxies, ideally 1000. The number of proxies directly impacts performance.
• Thread Amount: This is the number of connections that can be made to your proxies simultaneously. If Webshare has a thread limit of 300, limit Versatile to 300 threads as well to prevent performance issues.
• Bandwidth: This is the total amount of data you can send with their proxies monthly. For users of the group scraper or model sales bot, we recommend a high bandwidth limit.
• Proxy Protocol: Keep in mind Versatile only supports HTTP/HTTPS proxies, we do not support SOCKS
• Proxy Type: Datacenter proxies work fine for Versatile, although if you plan to use captcha features then you may want to consider residential proxies Our current recommendations for paid proxies are as follows:

Webshare offers budget-friendly paid proxies. We advise against using private, dedicated, rotating, & residential proxies due to their high cost and potential compatibility issues with Versatile.

Webshare prohibit using their proxies for "web scraping" purposes, although you can claim that you are using them manually and it'll usually be fine

Fineproxy is ideal for long-term usage, especially when making numerous requests and requiring fast responses. Despite their anti-DDOS measures potentially slowing down Versatile, they are faster than Webshare and offer unlimited bandwidth.

The anti-DDOS measures will only activate at very high speeds (over 100k requests per minute)

We recommend the Germany/Netherlands 1000 proxies package.

ProxyScrape offers a balance between Fineproxy and Webshare. They provide unlimited bandwidth at low costs with no thread limit.

We recommend the 1000 IPs datacenter package, although their residential package also works. We do not recommend their fully private proxies due to its unnecessary cost.

Roblox has banned ProxyScrape proxies completely before, and these proxies will likely get very difficult captchas from Roblox (giving you a lower success rate with captcha solvers). As of 09/12/23, they appear to work fine however.
